New Visions
often books exhibitions several years ahead. We are always interested in
seeing the work of new artists. Artists may submit proposals as
individuals, as a group, or several artists may submit a joint proposal
such as an exhibit including their work organized around a unifying theme.
Original works in all media are considered. We mount very few one-person
exhibits. Curatorial staff may group your work with other artists working
in compatible themes or styles.
Work considered for exhibit will be previewed by the exhibition
committee. Therefore it is best to submit .JPG/.JPEG images on disc.
To have your work considered a proposal should include:
- 8-10 digital images of your work in .jpg format that represent a current selection of available work. Images should be at 72 DPI and should not exceed 250 KB. Images files should be labeled with your last name, first initial and number corresponding to the number on your image list (ex. doej-01.jpg).
Please note: internet connections to personal websites cannot be substituted for digital images. Images in any other format than .jpg will not be reviewed.
If more than one artist is entering a joint proposal, each artist should
include 8-10 digital images.
- Include a corresponding reference sheet listing images by number. Image list should include the image file name (ex. doej-01.jpg), artwork title, size of artwork and art medium. Example:
doej-01.jpg Title of Artwork 24"h x 16" w, oil on canvas
doej-02.jpg Title of Artwork 36" h x 24" w, acrylic
- Include a resume or biographical sketch and artist’s statement. You
may also include articles, reviews, or brochures of your
work.
- Include a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage to return
materials. Proposals may also be submitted as email attachments to newvisions.gallery@frontier.com. Only complete proposals following the guidelines above will be reviewed.
Proposals will be reviewed by New Visions’ curatorial staff and
exhibition committee.
In general, New Visions pays for exhibit costs such as printing,
mailings, receptions, programs, and insurance while in our care. The artist
is responsible for incoming shipping, the gallery outgoing shipping. Hand
delivered work must also be picked up unless shipping materials are
provided.

Please don't request that we review your web site and get back to you.
Although it sounds like fun, we don't have time and can not present this to
an exhibition committee.
If you are coming to Marshfield and would like to show us your
portfolio, please call ahead and make an appointment. We may not have time
to view your work if you just drop in.
